I spend a lot of time on the Fat Daddy's Farm blog talking about news related to our upcoming project, so I decided to spend some time talking about other opportunities.
One of the fun things about publishing a book is that you run across many opportunities for writing, reading and generally expressing onself. Since many of the contributors and potential readers of "Joy, Interrupted" are women, a great place to communicate and find support--on personal and public issues--is Shewrites.com I find this site essential for networking and connecting, and you find so many opportunities--I can't speak more highly of this forum.
For example, they offer opportunities for writers to share their work--2 Kinds of Writing is sponsoring a writing contest; if you want to consider the differences between "two kinds of people," this is a great way to get your point of view known.
Other news:
In November, I am going to be going to the AWP conference--partly to get the word out about Fat Daddy's Farm and our upcoming anthology. This year it is in Chicago--if you plan on going, please let me know so I might meet up with you!
We now only have ten dollars to go for the Kickstarter campaign. Outside of this campaign, many people have contributed funds--I am applying those monies to making sure all the contributors each get a soft-bound copy of the book, for free (in addition to one complimentary version of the ebook).
Also, I thought I might share some blogs I am keeping up with related to our upcoming anthology...
